Was born near Stuttgart / Germany. She began her voice studies at the Karlsruhe University of Music (Prof. Christiane Hampe), then at the University of Vienna (Reinhardt-Seminar) and KS Ruthilde Boesch and later at the Operastudio of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich (KS Astrid Varnay).
She had a fixed contract at the State Opera Nurembourg as “Soprano for all needs”: she sang “Queen of the night”, “Galathee”, “Zerlina”, “Rosina”, “Peppi” and “Anna” , “Blonde” and “Zerbinetta”, where she acquired an intense experience. She participated successfully in different competitions: Berlin (VDMK), Munich (ARD Competition), Vienna (Belvedere) and Toulouse (Int. Concours).
Cornelia Götz has sung at the Semperopera Dresden, Hamburg State Opera, Cologne Opera, Leipzig, Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Düsseldorf, Hannover, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Gärtnerplatzand State Opera, Munich, the 3 Operahouses of Berlin, and out of Germany in Vienna (Volksopera and State Opera), Edinburgh, Covent Garden and Engl. National Opera of London, Glyndeourne, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Strasbourg, Rome, Treviso, Bassano, Rovigo, Torino, Parma, Cagliari, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Montpellier, Paris, Beaune, Tokyo, Yokohama, Chicago and MET, NY. During the last years she made her debut as “Fiordiligi” (Cosi) in Paris and Beaune), “Sophie” (“Gentleman of the rose”, “Cleopatra” (Giulio Cesare) and “Gretel” (Hänsel und Gretel) in Semperopera de Dresden.
You can also enjoy her performances in “Lieder -Programms” (for example: Mendelssohn, Mozart, Mahler, Strauss) and, of course, with her “Coloratura-concerts”. She can be regularly heard in Oratorios, her most beloved composers are Bach, Mozart, Haydn, Mendelssohn and Dvorak.
Cornelia Götz has worked with directors such as Phillipe Auguin, Sir Christopher Davies, Christof von Dohnanyi, Stefan Klingele, Philip Jordan, Vladimir Jurowski, James Levine, Marc Minkowski, Marc Piollet, Francois Xavier Roth, Stefan Soltesz, Christian Thielemann, Sebastian Weigle and Lothar Zagrosek.
Three years Cornelia Götz discovered a new passion: she makes her own songs. She sings mainly of love. Some of her songs have philosophical aspects or have a religious touch. Some of the texts are by Silke Bauerfeind and others are her own. Her concerts in Nuremberg and Stuttgart were a great success!
For last season Cornelia Götz participated in “the Queen of the Night” (paper that has sung 890 times) in a new production in Palermo (October of 2015). She took part in the ensemble “Pensiero musicale” and JSBach (Nurembourg, 01/11/2015), “Mahler-Lieder” with Prof. Werner Dörmann in Stuttgart (14/11/2015) and in 2016 shesang the concert version of ” Der Schauspieldirektor “in Genf (March 2016). Germany”.
